2024-2025 MainStage Shows

All Forefront Arts students are eligible to perform in our MainStage shows!

On the registration form you'll first enroll in at least 1 technique-building class in Acting, Dance, Improv, Voice, or FilmMaking.
Once you have enrolled in a class the registration form will prompt you if you want to also perform with us this year. You can select various show options at that point!

Each MainStage production listed below currently has 2 casts:

Atlanta Cast rehearses at St James UMC, 4400 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta

Alpharetta Cast rehearses at Gesher L'Torah, 4320 Kimball Bridge Rd, Alpharetta

Additional casts at other locations may be added at a later date with new partnerships we are pursuing.

Auditions will be held to determine the perfect role for each student but there is no audition required to sign up for the show for your student's age range.  Some shows will offer the opportunity for younger students to audition for featured supporting roles in an older production.

Shows will not be double cast. We believe it is important for the cast morale and rehearsal process that the entire cast work together towards one unified performance experience.  Casting will be determined based on the auditions on the first night and is not affected by the number of years a student has been with Forefront, the amount of classes they take, whether they are in private voice lessons, or any other factors beyond their behavior onstage & offstage.  Everyone is welcome and no roles will be pre-cast.

Due to the focused rehearsal calendar rehearsals will be scheduled twice/week and in general students will be called to both weekly rehearsals. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be created based on student conflicts and you will know in advance if you are not needed at any rehearsals. You are always welcome to attend every rehearsal but you are not required to attend a rehearsal if we will not be working on any of your songs or scenes.

Technique-building is a core part of the Forefront Arts experience. For the past several years (since Covid) the required technique time was built into the troupe rehearsal time (2 hours of rehearsal and 45 minutes of technique) so everyone took the same technique class together.  This year rehearsals will be separate from technique-building so students can select whichever technique classes they want to enroll in, based on their interests and schedules.  For your convenience we have scheduled technique classes immediately before rehearsals, as well as a variety of other days & times throughout the week and weekend.

K-3rd grade performers

Our youngest performers will work all year towards their big spring musical THE LITTLE MERMAID, plus have 2 featured performance opportunities in the Fall and Winter shows as they skill-build and gain confidence onstage!

K-3rd graders will rehearse 90 minutes one day/week on their shows, as well as take 90 minutes of technique classes each week (1 Acting Class and 1 Dance Class) that can be scheduled on any day at any location.

Enrollment is for the full season as they will be working on Little Mermaid material for the whole year.
Individual enrollment for just 1 trimester is not possible for K-3rd as they are working all year together to skill-build and gradually learn their big show.

Atlanta Cast: Thursdays 5-6:30 pm (and 90 minutes of Acting & Dance technique)

OR

Alpharetta Cast: Tuesdays 5-6:30 pm (and 90 minutes of Acting & Dance technique)

3rd-6th graders have 2 potential options for their fall MainStage show: they are welcome to perform in MOANA, or they can audition for featured supporting roles in THE LIGHTNING THIEF if space is available. To perform in PETER PAN 3rd-8th grade performers will rehearse 90 minutes one day/week for the full school year, as well as take at least 1 technique class each week. The technique class can be scheduled on any day at any location.

PETER PAN is a unique performance experience as it is site-specific, which means it will be designed & blocked around the playground structure with the students' input.  The students will work all year creating this new theatrical experience with their director and audience members will be invited to follow the action around the playground during the performances!  During the winter months rehearsal will shift inside and we'll come back out to the playground in the spring!

Enrollment in PETER PAN is for the full season as the cast will rehearse just once/week all year to develop the play.

Rehearsals:

or

Alpharetta Cast: Mondays 6-7:30 (and at least 1 Acting, Dance, or Vocal technique class)
